This year in social studies we will be using the History Alive text.  This is a highly engaging program that provides the students with high interest preview and post acitivites.  The text itself and comperable book notes will encourage students to comprehend and respond to social studies based question at a high level.

   Chapter 10

Growing Tensions Between the Colonies and Britain

 

 

In this chapter, students will learn about events that changed how the colonists felt towards  Britain. They will also learn more about The French and Indian War, The Proclamation of 1763, The Quarting Act, The Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre, The Boston Tea Party, and The Intolerable Acts.

 

Key Vocabulary: debts, acts, taxation without representation, and protest.
